Access Based on User Role
SHIIP contains a robust list of permissions. Every SHIIP page & feature has it’s own associated permissions that can be used to limit or grant access to Personal Health Information, management tools, and aggregate dashboards. We combine these permissions into Access Groups that can be tailored to any role, such as; care coordinators, clinical decision support, data entry support, privacy officers, etc. SHIIP can support roles in any health care sector, including; acute care, primary care, addictions & mental health, community support, etc.
The SHIIP onboarding team can help assign the most appropriate access group for your role & desired level of access. A list of available access groups is below.
AMH Case Managers
This group is tailored towards case managers in the Addictions & Mental Health sector. Users with this group have full access to the patient profile, advanced search, and patient activity on the Home page. This group does not provide access to any of SHIIP’s dashboards.
Care Coordinators
This group is tailored towards care coordinators in any sector. Users with this group have full access to the patient profile, advanced search, acute care activity on the Home page, the acute care dashboard and the care coordination dashboard.
Clinical Decision Support
This group is tailored towards users in a role that provides clinical decision support. Users with this group have access to the patient profile (access to Coordinated Care Plans is restricted), advanced search, patient activity on the Home page, and all dashboards (excluding the Health Links dashboard).
Clinical Service Provider
This group is tailored towards users providing clinical service. Users with this group will have full access to the patient profile, advanced search, patient activity on the Home page, and all dashboards (excluding the Health Links dashboard).
CSS Care Planning
This group is tailored towards users employed by community support agencies and who are involved in care planning. Users with this group have access to the patient profile (access to the Addictions & Mental Health page, risk profile page, and acute care summary/details pages are restricted), advanced search, acute care activity on the Home page, and all dashboards (excluding the Health Links dashboard).
Data Entry Support
This group is tailored towards users providing data entry support. Users with this group have access to the patient profile (access to the Addictions & Mental Health page, acute care summary/details pages are restricted), the acute care dashboard and care coordination dashboard, and advanced search. This group does not provide access to patient activity on the home page.
Non-Clinical Decision Support
This group is tailored towards users providing non-clinical decision support. Users with this group have access to advanced search and all of the dashboards. This group does not provide access to patient profiles or patient activity on the Home page.
Service Coordinators (home support)
This group is tailored towards users in a service coordinator role. Users with this group have access to the patient profile (access to the Addictions & Mental Health page, risk profile page, acute care summary/details pages, and some pages within the Coordinated Care Plan are restricted), advanced search, acute patient activity, and all dashboards (excluding the Health links dashboard).
Service Coordinators (non-home support)
This group is tailored towards users in a service coordinator role. Users with this group have access to the patient profile (access to the Addictions & Mental Health page, risk profile page, acute care summary/details pages, and some pages within the Coordinated Care Plan are restricted), advanced search, acute patient activity, and the care coordination dashboard.
Site Privacy Officer
This group is tailored towards users in a privacy officer role. Users with this group have access to the audit tool, and consent management tool.
